During his long 65 years of dedicated service to Tamil, Tamil development and education, Professor, in recognition thereof,  received several awards, prizes, etc from a variety of Organizations, such as Government of Tamilnadu , University of Madras , several Charitable Trusts, non-profitable organizations,  etc. Most of them came after 1977, the year of his retirement from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh indicating his life-long and enduring contribution to the Tamil and Tamil development till he passed away on 1 May 2006.

In spite of these recognitions, Professor continued to lead a simple and humble life, to paraphrase  Goethe, ' The deed is all, glory nothing '.
